Last Friday night, under the guidance of my fabulous fruit fly, Amber (aka the trillest interior designer in Miami) I stepped out of my basic bitch bubble and ventured to one of South Beach’s most elite hot spots, Beach Craft restaurant at 1 Hotel South Beach. From the moment our Uber driver dropped us at the door, I knew I wasn’t in Kansas anymore.

From the insane ceiling heights to the Cali-inspired, caramel-colored hues; Beach Craft gives all the feels of a sleek San Francisco lounge. Beach Craft is a product of celebrity chef, Tom Colicchio & Florida native, chef Michael Fiorello. This American farm-to-table restaurant is located inside the prestigious 1 Hotel on Collins Avenue.

I spent most of my tour of the hotel and restaurant walking with my hand over my mouth in disbelief. The tedious attention to detail is what truly blew my mind. I even found the location for my imaginary wedding in their massive ballroom. #WishfulThinking

Oh, and don’t get me started on the rooftop bar & cabanas…

The menu consists mainly of locally caught fish, antibiotic-free meats, and freshly made seafood dishes. What did I eat? Well…for starters…too many glasses of pinot grigio which I why my memory is only fixated on one the menu items I chose; the oysters. Oh man…I am NOT an oyster person but these were so fresh that they literally still tasted like the sea. Beach Craft also has an open kitchen in the rear of the restaurant which allows you to watch your food being prepared.

Well…we tried a little bit of everything. From their wines & champagnes to their whiskeys; I was not disappointed. Every drink had the perfect amount of kick & freshness. By 11pm I was blissfully snoring in an alcohol/food induced coma in the backseat of an Uber.

Amber & I were lucky enough to be served by an amazing guy by the name of Marvin. Marvin immediately greeted us with a warm smile and offered the perfect amount of genuine conversation, charm, & vodka. Marvin gave the most attentive service I’ve ever received here on the beach. If you find yourself at 1 Hotel, stop what you’re doing, go to Beach Craft and FIND MARVIN!!

Would I go back? Hell to the yes! While the prices aren’t for the faint of heart; every once and while you just need to ‘treat yo self’ to something great. Listen, you get what you pay for and Beach Craft is definitely worth every penny spent.
